Polar Science Day

22 July 2020, 10am - 2pm

Please note that due to Corona Virus and flooding, this event has been postponed (originally planned for Feb half term, then for Easter holidays). If you have booked, you will receive an e-mail with information and an option to get a refund in due course.

This event is for 6-12year olds and their families (siblings are welcome to come too). Find out what it is like to eat like a Polar Explorer, learn about climate change in the Polar regions, find out how animals are adapted for the Arctic and how Explorers prepare for the harsh conditions there.

When I am not running educational events at Howsham Mill, one of the things I do is work in schools as a 'Polar Ambassador' on the Polar Explorer Programme. I thought it would be a fantastic idea to combine the two and run some Polar Explorer activities for children during the February half term holiday.

£5 per child (plus Eventbrite fee). There is no charge for accompanying adults. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Please come dressed for the weather - we will spend quite a lot of time outdoors, and the Mill building is also not very warm! Please bring a drink and lunch.

Please do not book unless you are sure you can attend. Refunds are now only permitted up to 7 days before the event.

The site will be open to the public, so there may be other people and dogs around.

Booking via Eventbrite is essential!
