History of Milling and Bread Making - What we offer

Howsham Mill was built in 1755 as a corn grinding mill. This workshop, which addresses many of the objectives in the primary DT curriculum, will enable students to discover how the waterwheel once turned the mill stones to grind corn for flour through an investigation of the surviving mill machinery. Students will also get the chance to make their own bread and then to taste what they make at the end of the session.
